Finally got the canvas covered today. Still many small things to fix but this is basically it. And need to oil out or vanish to bring back the depth in the darks under the trees. The little bush (damned blackberry) at left center needs more work. This photo was taken at night with my phone camera but I think the colour is pretty close.

I've seen this before. Did you do an earlier sketch years ago?
It was this summer. Very hot and dry. I liked the golden fields against the purple hills. And the short shadows.
Still a bit to do yet.

Flawless, looks like you have done every blade of grass.
Perfect balance of light too.
I'm glad it "looks like" I painted every blade of grass even though I didn't. There's a lot of abstraction happening there (as @Bobitaly mentioned) - like in the video where Mark paints the hair of a poodle. If I had to paint every blade as per the source I'd still be at it when death or doomsday intervened.
I think the grass and sky evoke that superbly.
March or April would have been better for Texas anyway. Then the Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush wild flowers would be in bloom along the roadside covering up the beer cans.
Colours are glorious. ❤️
Love it.
Thanks very much, @CJD and @Ronna.
