Mountain man? Whatever he's drinking is making his upper arm too short but I doubt he'd notice.

@BOB73 really,  ok I’ll raise the shoulder that I lowered with the ochre and greenish. Yes mountain man that should be holding some game , say rabbits, geese or ducks. Put a gun in there maybe, old shotgun?  Any comments will be so helpful

If it is a mountain man from the period that was their heydays the gun would be a rifle, a muzzle-loader and probably a flint-lock. But the jug is as appropriate for the legends of mountain men as was a string of beavers or any kind of game.

@BOB73. Awesome advice, muzzleloader. Didn’t even think of that. I’ll strap it to his back. I put a few geese there.  It’s the color I’m trying for on this.  Darks. Up against light. Or lighter up against very dark shadows

Made some small changes. I have to be honest I redid the face in oil. Couldn’t get the acrylic to do it.

That repaint in oil made a big improvement in the face, and the beard works better as a result.
