A beautiful painting...thanks for sharing it with us!
I would however, darken the right side of the face...the light source coming from the left but the values seem to be the same ....this would create a better effect and I think correct the problem with the left eye..
But whatever you decide to do...this is a great piece of work and hopefully you will continue to show your beautiful work here and try Mark's approach at painting...
Very nice. My only comment is about the stripes. The top is "graphic" (read strong black and white) and when I block that area, greater focus is drawn to her eyes. (for me)
Try it. Close one eye and mask just the stripes with a crooked finger or piece of dark matte paper. Now unfocus your open eye and look at the whole image. Take the mask away, put it back. Do that a few times and see if you notice a difference in any part of the painting.
I really like how light and airy the space is. I love how the items on the wall stubbornly refuse to line up, lending it that very casual feeling.
Thanx Mark Sir for kind words and appreciation .....I am just amazed with yor work and have become a huge fan of your ways of working . So organized , systematic , in order great approach . I am already organizing my bottles now to mix paint ur way . Thx for all ur help .I have learnt a lot .
I especially like the representation of her hand and her fingernails. Really nice effort. I agree with Karen about the stripes. If you tone them down a bit (reduce the contrast and the hardness of the lines), I think it improves the painting.
Interesting how we all see things a bit differently. I don't notice 'the stripes' at all. I go straight to her hand and face. From my standpoint, I really like it the way it is including the background.
Gary , I painted what I saw it , you are right, its really interesting how we all see it differently. I like to paint what I see the shapes the values and then the colours ...is what I follow....but its nice to get new viewpoints from friends
