Painting of Charlotte

I just finished this painting of Charlotte. She is one of my twin granddaughters. I think I've figured out the style I like to paint in now. At least when it comes to portraits. Not that I really know what I'm doing yet but I like the brush marks and less blending. I feel less stress with this approach. I wasn't sure about all the dead space on the left but now I'm ok with it. Anyway, I thought I would show you guys my latest attempt.

Not just one beautiful young lady but your blessed with two! What a wonderful painting Ronna...I'm attracted to her beautiful little eyes and lovely face....I do like the brushstrokes very much. Agree with TJ on the softness of her dress, little animal and hair. I also agree with Shirley on the over all soft feel of the painting which suits this subject matter so well. Congratulations!

Absolutely beautiful I agree with everyone above The only *slight* suggestion/constructive criticism I would like to make, is that in your lovely loose background there is a line that starts near the little girls hair and heads off towards the side of the painting. For me, that tends to lead my eye out of the painting, my eye cant help but follow it. That aside (and even with that included) it is absolutely stunning. What a darling girl!
