I buy unprimed cotton canvas and used (elmers white glue, plaster of Paris, white acrylic paint, and water) is this a good recipe or will my painting suffer in years to come?
I'll let you know? I covered a bare linen with your recipe but with chalk used in chalk paint and PH neutral PVA glue. It gave it a ton of tooth though. I wish I had sanded it down further. Not my favorite support, but it worked. (Maybe not for portraits, which is what I used it on.) I wanted the linen to show through especially along the edges. It did influence what my colors looked like.
