Believed it or not, I never painted before have no idea about mixing the colors or draw. but I always have a dream to paint the beautiful landscape. I start the first painting with a still life so I get familial the colors and penciling. And here it is my second painting, "South Point, Big Island, Hawaii".

What size is it?
Umm..did I miss the Landscape pointers by mark ? Where do I find them ?
HELP !
This is a fabulous piece of work.
BTW did you see the profile of a head/face in the rocks?
I suggest that the rocks on the foreground RHS should be a tad more sharply defined (more light and shade) in keeping with the atmospheric perspective.

There's still hope for me...
" Kaye don't look at like the ocean..look at like a bunch of colors.. Mix all colors that you see and then put it on the right place..After that the ocean will come. "
I am in awe of your talent beings this is only your second painting! A superb work! Would I hang this in my living room? The answer is yes! And proudly!

Thank you for providing the link to Kaye's first work, Vangie. A very nicely done still life!
Sometimes greens can be a hard color to deal with, but Kaye has done an exceptional job at differentiating the cold from the warm greens. A very lively painting color wise, and from the standpoint of the composition. The way the small red glass vial becomes the focal point due to the its being complementary to the yellow-greens and blue-greens aids of the objects and background makes this a very powerful artwork.
I especially like the nuanced color notes contained within the reflections evident on the table's surface -the warm greens on the right as they modulate toward a cooler green range on the left.
Magnificent work, Kaye! With each painting you complete, you are making marked progress. You've raised the bar for all of us, Kaye. Kudos!

I love the colours, the sea green and browns!! I like how you are able to capture the crushing waves with the bits of white organic squiggly lines!! Look forward to your next piece! B-)
