It was 71 degrees here yesterday and today and we're in the middle of winter--haha. Blue sky. Sunshine. Mild breeze. (southwest US) But I do miss your snowy weather sometimes. Just not driving in it.
This was yesterday morning. At that time it was abt 19 or 20 " Today it is beautiful and sunshine. And digging out day and deer tracks everywhere, they are searching for food, looks like my rhododendrons again.
In Ireland in the past few weeks if went from 2 degrees with a little frost and a dusting of snow on the mountains, to 15 degrees. Rain all the time, sometimes warm sometimes cold. Spring bulbs growing since november and my last rose died early this month. Not good weather for the Aches and Pains
I'm just outside NYC and we got about 30 inches yesterday. We get a snowfall like that every seven years or so. The snow is piled in the middle of my street about 48 inches high. The fun will start tomorrow when people are trying to get to work. Snow that high cannot be plowed. They will have to use bulldozers and trucks to take the snow away. No garbage removal and hopefully no fires because a fire truck wouldn't be able to respond.
This is our second day of being snowed in. The snow plows still haven't made it to the neighborhoods. I went across the street to clear the fire hydrant. The snow was so deep, it took me about ten minutes just to get across.
It's nice and normal here. Midwest. We got a little wintery mix, just enough to go sliding to school. I like snow when it first comes down: the quietness, only the sound of snow hitting the ground, and how pretty it is...before it turns to snirt. Then it's ugly again.
I threw out my back two days ago and I wasn't even shoveling snow! So my back twinges for all of you in the east.
Our neighborhood is still snowed in. Except, yesterday 12 of us went out and shoveled a path about 1/8 mile long to the main road. We can get out now along with a few others. Many people still very unhappy. Well, not their kids.
That's great you can get out. They got us pretty quick. We went Monday 3 hrs away and dug his 89 yr.old Aunt out and took her to store. She has nieces and nephews closer to her, some only 10 min away and they hadn't even called to see if she was ok. Then this morning we had another dusting of snow and we're supposed to get more by end if week.
Ron -Yes, I agree not just one but 5 live within 30 min of her. At least in got 2 in motion. I called one and told them we had done driveway but her garage door was broke, the opener had went bad and one knew about it, so when I called I said we never got to it we will have to get back and my husband asked him if he would go over and check it to see if he could get a model Number and we would see about getting one. I got a call today telling me he and his brother took care of it went today bought one and out it up. sometimes I post on facebook and it gets action.
