Copying master works is a good way to learn. Just be careful not to sell it.
You can also take your own photos of similar theme or get a photographer to do it for you and work from those - you will still learn and be able to deal them away.
What amazes me about this artist is that he uses acrylic paint. How can he see value properly? His work is amazing. I can't find it at the moment, but I think he did a painting of paint blobs kind of mixed together and I love that one because of the surreal quality. All these paintings look so ..... clean. Like, literally, squeaky clean: marbles with no scratches, glasses that are clear, water that has no air bubbles in it, and direct, unfiltered sunlight through air that has absolutely nothing in it. It's weird.
thank you for the compliments @dencal , @oilpainter1950 . Very beautiful composition @KevinGE. @Irishcajun I use some small brushes and other pop brushes for smudging. I do not know how I can describe the technique. I did not know who was using a specific technique. I was copying the colors visually by my computer monitor without printing the figure reference. I do not have my painting style. My painting has not yet my personality. I want people to one day identify a painting as my only looking at the own painting. I know it's the realism, but I'm still studying my strokes. @Megans I did not know he used acrylic. Thanks.
Thanks, I looked up this painters work and see what you and Megan are talking about.
I like a more painterly look, but I can see the appeal and how in some areas of a painting (eyes, glass, metal, etc. and other key points of interest) being able to achieve this effect could make a big difference depending on what you were trying to achieve. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
