Cheers,
I am an avid reader of many tech blogs, one of them being gizmodo.com.
They announced today that it looks like Adobe is "... tired of keeping the activation servers running to support legitimate installs of the 10-year-old CS2, so it's decided to just give it away." - Gizmodo.com
So if you create an account on the Adobe site you can download Photoshop CS2 or the entire Creative Suite for free now.
Since this news was released the Adobe servers are being overworked, so be patient or try later.
"Update:The install for Mac is actually for Power PC devices, so you'll need Mac OS X v.10.2.8–v.10.3.8 or Rosetta to get it working." - Gizmodo.com
PC users are fine.
Hope this helps a few people.

So does that mean it won't function on a Mac OS X v.10.6.8?
Alternatives are GIMP or a $20/month Photoshop subscription (you always get the latest version with the subscription). The $20 subscription option is on the right sidebar of this page: adobe.com/products/photoshop.html

You're right, mnsrc and mrking. Thank you!
I'm downloading the apps now.... see what happens... hopefully it works in my Windows 7 64-bit... The link states that the CS2 is good on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This will be really handy if it works on my Windows laptop and for free because as I mentioned in another thread, I do have Photoshop in my MacBook, but not in my Windows laptop (I've been using GIMP in my laptop).
So, if it does work, I don't understand all this hype/blogs about not being true! Beats me!
