SDM Oil of cloves or lavender oil...

I did some research and it seems that lavender oil has the same function as the oil recommended by Mark both are used in tempera paint, but that the former has a less pungent odor of the second.
I do not know why it is so difficult to find in Italy, I'm afraid of making a mistake I noticed that exists in many forms I wanted to know if Mark means the pure essence oil of cloves, I would not take a product that also contains substances that may interfere with the drying process type olive oil.
Lavender oil is normally sold in italian stores from brands like Lefranc.

I think lavender oil will work but I have not tested. Anything labeled as oil of cloves or clove leaf oil is fine.

I love the smell of cloves for this reason I did not stop until I found ... Zecchi in Florence is a super specialized store ...

I went to GNC health food store which is a chain all over the US and got an ounce of clove for $7.something. I thought that was a real good price.

You will need to mix up a batch of SDM and have extra CO on hand for the BU.
I suggest you should get about 4oz to start. This much CO allows me to make up about 900ml. Or are you buying premixed SDM DELQ?

I am making my own SDM (don't know what DELQ is) from the supply list. I had bought an ounce from GNC and a quarter ounce from some other herb store a week ago and am saving the quarter ounce for the BU, thanks! I'm ordering from iherb.

DELQ was the earlier form of the current SMD. It's the name Mark used for his medium on the old forum and is a name made up using the initials of his children. Since Mark is no longer associated with the TCM website, he changed the name. He also has expanded the mixture to account for variations between what is used for white versus the other colors.

Just got my 2 oz. of clove oil for $13.42 which includes the $4 shipping. It only took two days to get here and they also sent a little gift which is a travel toothbrush. I think had I ordered a 4 oz bottle it would have been even less expensive. Next time, I will. Thank you Denis!

I was at the grocery store (Publics) with wifey, and happened to ask the pharmacy if they had some clove oil, Guess what, they had one bottle. $5.79

In regard to mixing SDM, it sounds like 4oz of Clove Oil would get you through mixing up a batch of SDM with some extra leftover for your Burnt Umber?

Mark didn't give any recommendation to add extra oil of cloves in the SDM for burnt umber
