Yes, Liz suggested the same. David actually discussed that with me before launch and I can't remember what he said. I think that he will do a work around.
I will try and get a good pic of it tonite and post, I found it in my massive house cleaning rampage yesterday. Found some other long lost stuff like the battery charger for my 40D that I was desperate to find!
Congratulations Mark and David! Just an initial post to check the login process out. Nice to see some painting friends already involved in the new site. So far, its all worked well and is straight forward...very nice startup.
OK, I can't figure out how to edit a comment....just like for typos after you post. Is there a way?
You can edit for up to an hour, but after that the post is "sealed" so to speak. This is to prevent the situation where someone (say, a troll) keeps editing their post, which makes everyone who posts afterwards seem to be misinformed or contradictory or whatever. However, I have since installed something that allows people to see that a post was edited, and gives a link to a log of their edits for reference. So we may remove the restriction or at least loosen it up a bit, but I'm not sure yet. I have seen it create problems elsewhere.
If you mean "how do I edit right after I make a comment", when you hover over the comment there should be a little gear icon in the top right of the comment that you can click. It should give you the option to edit your post.
We'll definitely be making changes to the forum over time as we see how people use it and what works and what doesn't. There may be some growing pains. We have to assume that eventually lots of people will be in here and management will need to be more automatic and user-controlled than usual.
Good! Now if you will just give me a quick tutorial on my most needed emoticons...how to do the eye roll, shock eyed one, ummmm, think those are the most important on any forum : P

I love the fact you can rate another persons comment.
