As I age, I feel I am lonelier. I don't know if that's what happens to all. Don't get me wrong, I find life is beautiful. It's just I can't do silly things anymore or say something stupid, I'd be judged. Its tiring to always talk intelligently or act as expected.
I'm with you there, @osiosbon. We can't just play mindlessly and unselfconsciously like when we were kids. That was such fun. And we do seem to spend more time alone. But the most sobering realization I've had as I've aged (I'm near 70, and this has sort of crept up on me) is that you realize that all the exciting things that might have happened in your life have probably already happened or now won't get around to happening.
@osiosbon thats interesting, I find as I age I care less about being judged. Im 60 and if people expect me to act a certain way then thats on them I believe I still retain a childlike fascination for things and see a lot of humour in situations. If people think I come over as a bit simple because of it, thats ok, im not here to impress them.
I was just reading this post and the song ‘All the Lovely Ladies’ came on by Gordon Lightfoot’ it seemed appropriate to share. You would have to pull it up on your phone if you’re interested in listening to it because I don’t know how to attach it here 🥴

I just found this sign amusing
But there are positives to aging, too.

I fully intend to grow old disgracefully
Thats a sobering thought.
Do something about it while you have a chance.
Force yourself to find groups to be a part of. Your future 82 year old self will thank you.
