This was started last year, put aside when a health crisis struck my partner, then picked it up when cold weather set in and finished it up. Using a free reference photo from Pixabay, I cropped the photo and needless to say did not copy each and every branch of the trees. Then came the trouble of the reflections in the water. I opened my painted image in the photo editing program and flipped the image vertically. I then used that to transfer branch reflections onto the water from what was painted above. It was fun and really like the composition and atmosphere. With posting on social media, I got an inquiry on price and have a conversation going with a potential buyer. Critiques are always welcome. Happy New Year all.

The only thing you might want to check is the yellow glow on the snow at left. Is it a bit strong? it might be just the camera. I always have trouble getting the colors right with my camera.
I agree that the snow on left maybe too yellow, though maybe its like that in your source.
Great news about the potential buyer.
I did a whole series of Tasmanian snow scenes for my show last year.

The horizon light and the bank / reflection on the left are the stars.
Has the translucence of porcelain.
I am falling in the camp of toning back the yellow reflections on the snow.
I really like the distant trees, and the sense of brrrrrr, it evokes.
I really, really appreciate all the positive comments as well as the helpful advice. You guys are all the absolute best!
