Hey everyone,

Here's my most recent painting. It's been a while and I'm not sure if I've improved as much as some of you. The new works of all you old timers is really impressive!

I've included a studio pic to prove I'm still rocking the modified Carder easel and palette setup. I have cats now hence the  lids for everything

I like the meadow behind the trees on the right. It gives depth and feels like it is sloping up towards the main mountains.

What were your successes and struggles?

Welcome back. Appears to be a night scene.  The complementary colors give them a higher chroma, especially next to the low key blues.

I love the composition. The road and greenery leading from foreground to background. The lines in the mountains and trees leading the eyes to the house. The look/feel of the painting reminds me of an Edward Hopper painting.

@Roxy you must have painted at least something - I'll check out your post history. I've finished a few decent paintings in the last year but have some abandoned ones/failures as well.

@GTO Thanks I saw that painting you did with the cards and pine wood - insane detail and fun composition.
