Three new still life

Hello!

I have 3 new paintings to share, all painted from life.

Gladioli and carnations (title suggestions for this piece will be very appreciated)
12"x24", Oil on stretched canvas

"Embracing differences" (does the title sound patronising? if so title suggestions welcome)
11"x14", Oil on gessoboard





Picked up these peaches from a local orchard. I was very impatient while painting this one, makes me think i need to come out of my comfort zone of flowers more.
"Local produce" 
9"x12", Oil on gessoboard
( the shadows are brown, and the background is a dark magenta, sorry for the bad photo)

Anwesha I'm a fan of your work, especially your flower paintings. I really like the choice of frame and how beautifully you've done the tonal transitions. and really good drawing.

Beautiful! I also really like the first one, such subtle transitions! Looks stunning. Is that an orange ground I see peeking through in places?

Thank you so much @Richard_P! that peeking through is just thinly painted burnt umber, that i use as stain

The Gladioli and Carnations is fabulous. I like the peaches too but the first looks more finished.  The composition and lighting on the first is perfect.  I like how the light and shadow turns around the flowers.

All three are really good, @anwesha, but the first is something special. The colour and value transitions are marvelous - the transitions within the flowers and the transition from dark to light in the background are perfect. I don't know whether you did a precise pencil drawing but the form, too, is great and yet the painting doesn't look at all tight but very painterly. You are our flower master.

Really great work @anwesha.  You truly are a master of flowers.  My favorite is also the glads.  I like your peaches painting, too.  I can almost feel their fuzzy texture.  Beautiful work.

thank you so much @tassieguy i did a rough sketch before starting to get an idea of placement of the flowers but every day a new gladiolus bud opened up and I had to improvise accordingly. The painting has more opened up flowers than i had initially intended but it happened for good i guess

"Embracing differences" (does the title sound patronising? if so title suggestions welcome) - go for it. If that's what spurred you or occurred to you during painting then great! 

You are way beyond finding out how to paint. Perhaps titling pieces and creating series of paintings is a way of exploring why you paint?
