This is a large tribute painting. Started with tonal drawing. Here are some sketches used for the development of the concept. Idea was conceived while in the shower
Some of the poses are now discarded. inkwash More or less the final idea in watercolor Oil drawing on canvas
Ashamed to say that finally found the best thing now and above ones are now reserved for some forthcoming things. A lot of thinking went behind it in the past few days and searched through my references. I did this mobile phone composition study that satisfies me fully. Today it took me very little time to materialize the vision in the mind. So unfortunately all above are now scrapped including the oil drawing on the main canvas! Apologies for misleading but this is the best. Will do a small oil sketch to finalize everything.
@Gary_Heath Haha. I am obsessed with correct shape and position. I think I don't feel connected to the objects in a painting if they do not look right or not placed at the right section.
@kaustavM, maybe just get something down on canvas and then show us. Notwithstanding all the sketches, by hand and computer generated, I still don't have a clear idea of what it is that you want to achieve here.
@kaustavM, it was not a complaint. I'm ok with you posting every little sketch. I don't criticize you or that. It can help to get input from other artists. But, in the end, the artistic decisions mut be yours and, at some point, you'll have to say, ok, this is what I'm going to paint. Art doesn't happen by consensus. It happens by an artist feeling strongly about a subject, taking risks, and giving it his/her best shot.
