Is in Edinburgh where I live, I visited today and took many photos for you to peruse, should you wish. I snapped 31 paintings, forgive any glare or wonkyness that a few may have (taken on iPad Pro).
You will see work by Rembrandt, Degas, Sargent, Pissarro, Van Gogh and Monet amongst other delights.
Each painting is followed by the explanation card.
I hope you enjoy.

I especially like the first one of the interior by the Scottish School.
Yes I like that one too and made sure I took a photo of the interior more or less near where the artist would have had the easel to paint it around 150 years ago.
You are fortunate to have a gallery such as this on your doorstep. I miss living near a large city gallery.
At least you can visit some of it in a virtual way.
We also have the modern and portrait galleries. Fine buildings too with wonderful works to see.
@toujours, I am not sure why you are having that difficulty and if it is to do with internet. It did take some time for me to upload all of these though.
It would only manage 3 or 4 images and explanation cards then would kind of freeze. I had to sign out and back in again repeatedly.
Hey! I didn't know you were in Edinburgh!
Me too
Yes what a wonderful museum we have eh?
I very nearly worked there many years ago and boy would I have been in the back going through all the paintings not visible to the public!
Im Newhaven were are you ?
Yes there must be many treasures in storage.
I bet the days go slowly for those working in the gallery areas.
I'm Gorgie myself.
There are a lot of paintings that have been missing from the collection since they started the lower floors renovation which seems to have been going on for years now.
There is of course the portrait gallery too which has some exquisite Scottish paintings in it.
Yes, it would seem like a painter's paradise sitting looking at art all day working in the galleries but it is a long slog, on your feet for most of the day and only your mind to occupy the hours..that is why I passed on the job.
You're so lucky to have a gallery where you live and free to visit
Was that the original from singer Sargent?
That bouquet of flowers by Yan Van Huysum puts me to shame,. I can't even paint a single flower from a photo
He probably had to do it from life judging by the date.
Again thx for sharing, great paintings
yes I noticed that this one, which I really like and have photographed in the past, was not on display, though it had been for years.
Yes every ne is an original.
Remember that Huysum wouldn’t have had the distraction of 24/7 media and social media so could probably devote a lot of time to practice
There used to be a huge Rubens on the ground floor but I haven't seen that in my last few visits. I was told that until the renovations are complete items will be in rotation.
I think the absolute standouts for me in there are of course Lady Agnew and Gainsborough's Honourable Mrs Graham and Gutherie's Hind's Daughter..I get so lost in that painting
I am pleased you like them
