Not a painting but could be considered art 

My daughter had a big birthday recently, her 30th, I got her several presents and I wanted to make something for her rather than just buy. 

So I made this out of felt wool its a foot tall and the whiskers are horse hair.







I am pleased to say that she was thrilled, though she could not at first believe that I made it.

Yes I put a fair bit of time into it but, in the same way I do when painting, I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the creative process.

I intend to do more, perhaps realistic looking animals.

hey it's really cute I can understand why she loved it. Where did you learn how to do that? online?

Thank you @adridri, yes I discovered it online over he past month and bought the tools and materials to do it. Its called needle felting and you basically repeatedly stab the wool which binds it and makes it more solid, then sculpt it as you create.
This is my first piece.

It's so cute, @Michael! And beautifully put together. I'm not surprised she was thrilled with it. And more so since you made it for her. I just love the eyes and the whiskers.
