@mstrick96 I just got my 13 pro max. I like it very much. The camera is a little different in that it has a 3 x lens vs a 2x. The Lidar camera is amazing. you can make a quick scan then use it to decide on a point of view. Nuts. I have sever 'real' cameras that I use to get the great shots. But my phone is always there. Phones don't have the glass that cameras do but the computational stuff is hard to believe. I've gotten some pretty great pictures with my iphones.
Thanks, guys! That's a thorough article, @dencal! Looks like a great camera!
@KingstonFineArt What about the size of the Max? Do you find it to be noticibly larger than the regular size? I keep my phone in my front pocket with my wallet so I don't want a monster sized phone, but my eyes are getting older, so that larger screen size might be handy. Is the larger Max screen worth the size and cost difference?
Hi @mstrick96, despite having a very good digital SLR, which takes amazing photos, in some ways I prefer my iPhone for painting- the puny lens on the phone helps to smear out fine details. This painting here was based on a very close crop from an iPhone shot (and thus very low resolution and blurry). I’m a devil for getting sucked into unnecessary detail so I find this helps. You can of course try and process a high res photo to achieve the same effect, but the iPhone does it for you. Plus it’s a lot easier to carry around a phone than a camera bag 🙂

Here is a good review of video and still photo performance of the iPhone 13 Pro.
