Here is a painting of our English Setter Duncan. A gentle giant. I did this 4 or 5 years ago and put it away. I found it a couple of weeks ago and vanished it the other day with Gamvar. It brought the painting to life.
My studio is generally a damp place.I run a dehumidifier at least half of the year. Winter is a different story. Perfect for varnishing.

i used Gamvar with a 4” bristle brush.
I am currently looking at some old ones I never quite finished; wondering about leaving them as they are and varnishing them. I don't want to ruin the mood they have captured as I blocked them in.....quandary.
I have not used gamvar. I have just spray varnished my paintings. Perhaps one day, it would be something to try? Does it have an advantage to spray varnishes?
i do use Kamvar spray varnish on damp paintings.
