Thanks. this is my first time painting glass and its tuff. It had me stressed out lol.so this is were i stopped tonight. I dont know why my pics up load sideways.maybe cause im uploading From my phone..
Alex, the mask is so good! And I agree with Shirley on the glass. Nice painting. Martin, that pear is perfect! I just started my "paint something white" challenge. So can't show anything right now.
Great job Alex! I agree with Shirley and Ronna: great job on that vase! Well the whole painting looks very good. =D> Martin, the pear looks fantastic! :-bd
Beautiful glass work Alex....when Shirley S. gives you a high compliment on glass work you know your doing something very very well....she is the best at glass that I know of!
Martin....great color matching and I think the highlights are very special...looking great!
Congratulations to you both on your efforts so far!! =D>
Wonderful start Garry! For those who may not know, Garry built the beautiful hardwood easel and taboret you see in his pictures....he has many talents and is very generous. This painting is for an auction to support a great ape rescue center in southern Florida. His first painting was auctioned about a year ago and they are still selling limited edition prints of it....I'm sure this painting will be just as successful.
Wonderful job on the mask Alex! It's amazing how often painting a white object does not involve much or any pure white paint at all! I was lousy at white object until following Mark's method....this is an excellent example of where the color checker really pays off.
Mnsrc, is your name Martin? I'm so sorry I didn't get my message posted about your painting before I lost my power - again. Most of winter we have pounding rain and heavy winds so my connection is sporadic.
Your pear is awesome! The values and colors are spot on. It's very classical looking and so professional. Will be watching this come to life!
Garry this painting is going to be just as amazing as your others! Watching you paint this is a real treat for the eye ^:)^
And anyone wondering what a perfect art studio should look like - check out Garry's! Mine looks like some bohemian hobo setup shop (
All these paintings are just gorgeous, the pears, the rose/mask, and the ape! I need to get rolling on my "paint something white". No more cooking for me now that Thanksgiving is over (yea right!), I am leaving take out menus on the kitchen counter. Donna
Hey Donna - here's a solution for you.......cook something white or cook something in a white container or, better yet, cook something white in a white container and paint it while its cooking on your white stove!! Multi-tasking comes to oil painting!! If I think of any more 'helpful' suggestions I'll be happy to pass them on.
Here is what I have on my easel. This is a commissioned work, size is 31,5 x 23,6' (80x60cm) by far not as interesting as the other paintings here but I thought I'll share even though.... I somehow slightly changed the background.. Talking about perfect studios..some are even equipped with washing machines
Hi Myriam! This reminds me of your beautiful effort on the roses....looking forward to seeing more. Nice to see your puddles of colors...Mark will be proud!
Thank you so much for the continued support Gary! Started to mix the reds...can hardly see anything but red now :-O need some sunglasses B-)
It is looking great! I know the feeling about a lot of red...I painted a room for my daughter in a red one time and it is hard to take after awhile! Then her very helpful cat walked thru my paint pan so looked like a murder in the house!
Myriam, I could glean the makings of another superb painting. I'm sure the finished painting would look just as awesome and brilliant as your other ones... looking forward to seeing the next version. :x
Garry, I so love your painting studio. I'm :-& with envy 8-> ... Happy for you!!! :-bd
Alex, the contrast of the soft petal rose along with the sharp looking mask makes for a very interesting painting that is painted extremely well =D> Miriam, Can't wait for the flowers to pop out of that canvas. I can almost smell them now. Garry, I commented on your painting before but just passed up the chance to comment on that glorious painting studio setup. Your talents are showing loud and clear. Just love it.
Honestly Garry it looks done to me. I wouldn't touch it. It's just gorgeous! I loved the photo but I like your painting so much better. Superb ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^

After a little time off from painting for family reasons, I'm back in the saddle. I need to try to finish this by December 4th.
I like your setup
