@Richard_P showed us some micro art. Here is the next step scaling down artwork. I promised to post a picture if I could get something with the STM, but this AFM image will do it. Maybe this one will be more inspiring than my first "macro" still life posted today.

This is an atomic force microscopy image that we measured at the lab, basicaly showing the atomic steps on a sample surface. An atomic tip oscillates around its equilibrium position above the surface and when it encounters atoms on the surface, you get an intensity proportionnal to the atomic step height. blue are valleys and yellow are atomic hills.

Its has some abstraction in it, doesn't it? Surprisingly enough, this seems easier to me than mixing the colors, for now! You can imagine all the strange laws of quantum mechanics happening down there, that get's pictured in this image. But that's getting out of topic...
