Beach in Scotland

I intended to paint a small study on a small piece of toned cardboard, but it came out a decent small painting in itself.

  • It certainly did, nice work.  I have a series of paintings that I call “leftovers”.  I paint them with the leftover paint I have that day.  Usually they’re small sketches or studies, sometimes they turn into nice little works on their own.  I try to learn something from each of them.
  • I like the sky and the bright sun on the tuft of grass.  The dark area in the left it a bit difficult to read but appears to be a cliff along the water edge.  All in all you did justice to a piece of cardboard.  I might have to keep a few pieces handy for myself.
