Mixed Objects, Frilandsmuseet

Hi All

This is a little 20x20cm (8x8in) study from my series based on the Frilandsmuseet in Copenhagen. Here you can also see the painting overlaid on the actual scene. The real shelf has a retainer bar on the bottom, but I did not like that it covered the objects in part, so I removed it in the painting.

Thank you .. yes it seems to be my favourite theme. I guess I'd live in this place if they let me!

Beautiful work. Do you plan to paint the entire scene in the photo? You should. It’s got great composition with the rustic table and light from the window coming in.

@HondoRW The whole scene is on the list - but it's a long list, and probably will be a 2022 project in the end.

Nice work!  I love your subject matter and agree with @HondoRW on painting the entire scene.  Very rustic and nostalgic.

@A_Time_To_Paint If you ever make it to Denmark I highly recommend the museum! The houses there have been preserved in their centuries-old state, full of life and charm. I lived beside a similar open air museum in Olso for half a year (the Volksmuseet) and I kick myself for not taking any pictures in it.
