Here is my second DMP-method variant painting:
Value checker instead of color checker.
Proportional grid instead of proportion divider.
Printer paper photo instead of laminated photo.
Very happy with the left side apple. Colors in the jug are definately too high chroma. Next time I'll probably stick with a single color in the mixing stage (here I did two seperate color mixes for the jug) and then mixing in to that as I start painting, if there are two diffirent colors in the same object. I like to paint ugly and not mixing at all. It is a lot of fun

It looks like a posterized photo. Where does the value checker idea come from. Color is value.
This image represents the use of value range. Within each range there are many colors.
Color and value are the same thing!
This is the illustrator Dear Cornwall. Not a great photo but still shows the value ranges well.
