Hello everyone!

I’ve been lurking the forum and following Mark for a few years now. Finally tried the DMP method (though without the color checker, I used a value-checker, hence the “variant” in the title) after putting it off for a long time. Never thought I would :-)

What is the difference between a value checker and a color checker?

That's a fine rendition. Maybe soften some edges here and there.

Great job on your first DMP method painting.  I would also like to know the difference in a value checker versus a color checker.

@GTO and @A_Time_To_Paint, as far as I understand a value checker is a piece of card with the grey scale values on it in small blocks (9, 10 or 12) from white through to black.

Correct me if I am wrong @aej26

mine is just homemade. Almost like a Color checker, but only values. :-)
