Baby - my childhood dog -16x 20 oil on panel

edited September 1 in Post Your Paintings
I did this portrait of Baby, a Tibetan terrier mix, to honor her memory as she passed away over a decade ago. I used a palette adapted to her colors and the grass/shadows around her, Including Old Holland Scheveningen yellow light and Gamblin permanent green light, raw sienna, yellow ochre, flake white replacement, Venetian red and UMB. I did not do a drawing first but rather painted direct to try to get an impressionistic feel. I look  forward to any input you may have  on improving it. (I think I still need to work a bit on her left paw now that I see it in a photo).  Thanks !
