Faces of Trinity Living is an annual portrait show I try to participate in each year. This year I have the opportunity to do two portraits. Just getting started on the first one - Carol.
Was able to work on Carol a little more this evening - she is starting to emerge from the darkness now - this is my favorite part of the drawing process.
Fantastic drawing. The visage reads compassionate, generous and wise with her fair share of skepticism and a good sense of humor. Good luck with the show, if there's no prize it still looks good on an artists resume.

It is done with a General's charcoal white pencil, a tuff stuff easer stick and a kneaded easer.
It sure goes faster than painting - lol
Here is my progress from this evening. Should be able to knock this out by the end of the week.
The paper is Strathmore 400 Series Artagain
60lb. smooth surface.
As long as you don't dent or grind the surface you can lift most if not all the charcoal white off with an eraser.
I use the Stuff Tuff eraser stick to draw with as well. Sand it into a point. These are really hard to find now.
Who is Trinity Living?
