Good Afternoon from the Great Plains.

Afternoon. My name is Jason, I am 38 and starting oil painting for the first time. I am married and live with my wife and our Daschund and Greyhound masters.
I have been doing art for a couple of years and moving from medium to medium including Graphite, Acrylic, Digital, and Watercolor. I have always wanted to do oils, but until recently I have been afraid of them, I don't know why. So here I am.
My favorite painters are of course Renaissance Masters, Caravaggio being my favorite and Raphael a close second. I love Sergeant and Monet as well.
Anyway, I hope to learn a lot and be able to eventually offer some advice.

Oils with their mediums and solvents always seem a bit arcane and mysterious at first sight. Mark sorts all of this out and make it easy and understandable.
With those masters as your inspiration you will do very well here on DMP.

And @marieb we can drive in a single direction for 6 hours and not leave Kansas.
And probably another two days after that to get a good meal.
