A friend and I have been hiking on the Front west of Augusta, MT. Took a few photos, and want to make them available for reference. You have my permission to use whatever catches your eye.
Every drainage we hiked had wolf tracks. This photo is of butterflies extracting nutrients and minerals from wolf scat. Everything gets recycled, I guess.
Every drainage we hiked also had grizzly bear tracks. Pretty cool to walk with the king of the mountain.
When we returned from one hike, there was a sharp whistle coming from under the truck. A marmot (like a woodchuck) had crawled up under the truck, probably to gnaw at the wiring. He wouldn't come out, and we had to poke him out with a stick. He ran off to his burrow UNDER AN OUTHOUSE! Goofy critter.
