Hi guys, Rosie here from England, I’m totally new to oil painting and am just in the process of buying the supplies I need, however I have just ordered some Venetian turpentine online, but now I’m worried it’s not the same thing as Venice Turpentine! Am I wrong? Does it even matter? Would really appreciate if someone could set me straight.. Thankyou

Welcome to the Forum.
Would help if you could mention the brand you ordered.
Shouldn’t be a problem. Venetian and Venice are interchangeable in the realm of mystical mediums.

Larch Turpentine
genuine
Larch Turpentine is a highly viscous balsam, still sometimes called `Venice turpentine´. It is unique in that it is collected from the heart of the larch tree rather than the bark and is free from the abietic acid crystals which can discolor other turpentines. Recommended by Doerner as a non yellowing painting medium (used sparingly) to impart enamel like gloss. Used historically in making varnishes, though not recommended as a finishing varnish.Thickens further during storage.https://shop.kremerpigments.com/en/mediums-binders-und-glues/solvent-soluble-binders/balsams-und-wax/5695/larch-turpentine
