Polperro Harbour, 1960, 30cm x 20cm, oil on aluminum composite

Taken from a 58-year old slide, and cropped to eliminate a dark looming land-mass on the right, and removed a small huddled group on the quay that made no sense compositionally.  This painting begs to be varnished, because the sea surface is drying in odd patches.  The photograph includes these odd patches.

The intention was to try to paint detailed foreground over loosely painted (large brush) background.  I think the result is a bit too much of a tilt-shift effect.  I also painted the hillside a little dark.

Trying this in a floating frame, which I have not done before.
