HELP - once again!! (I'm new) I have a 4 x 6" photograph which I've had since about 1980.

I want to use the print as the basis for a portrait. How will I get the best quality image from it?  Should I scan it at the local print shop - making sure they don't automatically 'improve' it? Or take it outside and with my digital camera take a photo of it as Mark has described in his videos?  Or is there some other method I could use?  The portrait will be 3ft x 2ft so it's a lot to ask from a little 4x6 print which is nearly 40 years old!  Thank you  Kind regards  Dianna
