Amsterdam paints.

I've been busy painting these tow Amsterdam buildings. Both are to be found along the canals.
I have tried not to go in too many detais: I don't paint individual bricks. I thing that too less details could make such a subject to be too sloppy.
Does this way of painting still show too many details?  Is it too bright. I Hope that people here will be critical.
The squared one is beeing painted with the tips/advices from Mark in mind. That doesn't mean that everything is implemented right away.
I hope to hear somebody about it.
Thanks anayway!

(oils on canvas: 80x100 cm).
And the squared one:  (oil on canvas, 60x60 cm).
