I think the wheel is OK it's hard to find an old wheel that hasn't warped in one way or another.
Nice - but I thought all dark values are painted first?
@Flatty The color or the barn is more sienna then your painting. The contrasts are bold in the painting but are very more subtle in the photo. The siding has a gradation the dark being not all that dark Seems to be a small size for the detail. Each board gets a tiny bit lighter towards the bottom with a shift in temp (yellow orange?). The darkest spot on that wall is the scythe blade and maybe the window on the left.This looks like it would be a simple try but man this is a tough painting to pull off. Many subtle red oranges and complimentary stuff in the leaves. Go slow. Make small critical observations. Good notes and color.value formulas.Are you using Geneva Paint?
