Boudicca’s Outback Blog

We( me, ex-husband, and our 5 year old son) will be setting out on Saturday for a 4,300 km round trip to Australia’s red heart and back. Perth to Uluru via the Great Central Rd. The GCR is a 1,126 km (700mile) dirt rd that runs through the centre of Australia. It’s recommended to travel in a 4WD vehicle due to road conditions, which we will be doing.

I’ll be taking watercolour and oil painting supplies as well as an esky to store any interesting road kill bones/skulls eagle, camel, dingo, snakes etc for future paintings.

Hopefully I will be able to post at some points along the way, it’s pretty remote so there won’t be phone signal for long stretches. We’ll be camping in swags and pretty much roughing it. I just bought myself a survival knife- ha ha, I’m not worried  :o
