Tried to paint like Sargent. Failed in every way.

    I don't think you failed at all, @Kaustav. Just keep painting like Kaustav. This is not photorealism but it still works. Thick, juicy paint and bravura brushwork can be more appealing  than hyper-realism. 
  • @tassieguy thanks. The only real problem was the flower. But it dried after a day. I paint for an hour or two then I get time on the next day. Flower dried a little on the second day and shape changed and created a great confusion. It took me as much as five hours; three for the flower only.
    Technique of Sargent, Zorn and many other realists are the same as mine. But those guys executed a lot faster and economically.
