Take this up again, have time. I may have too many steps made up for this, can probably do it with 5. Nice image to work on a cold snowy winter's day before the storm. Not almost done and composition a little wonky(not perfect) but let this go this time only, 'cause somewhat nearly finished, and I recognize the good in it, I like the play of values in it, an exercise in recognizing "painting light" in hopes for greater understanding. The wood panel measures 10" x 12", the flower is almost 10", better thinking out and prep on this, next time. Learned why it is named "Blue River II", blue plant, don't know until you look. Also, each single flower blooms for 24hrs. only and face of the flower, similar to sunflower, turns to follow the sun all day, Jul.-Nov.. except in this past season, only bloomed in August, all at once!
