I paint dead people

I have been evaluating art panels as an alternative to canvas. I was given a small 4x7, Windberg multimedia sample panel and thought I would test it out by just freehand painting a rough portrait without a model or photo reference. The study turned out looking like a character from a zombie apocalypse movie (( , but the panel painted really well. The paint seemed to sink into the surface just enough to hold the color, even when over thinned with Gamsol. You can remove paint easily and repaint over the top of what was there without waiting for it to dry. The surface is supper smooth, so it lends itself to fine detail work. I have a wedding portrait to paint in the coming months and I will put it on a Windberg panel and see how it turns out. Hopefully, it won't turn into a zombie apocalypse wedding. ))
